In Spring 2018, I was part of the Global Navigation Study and Research. We wanted to see how our current navigation was done by conducting usability tests such as moderated and unmoderated (qualitative/quantitative) studies. We worked with an external UX Agency to help us with these studies. The UX Lead and I worked with Product Marketing Managers, Content Strategist, and Business Analyst on how we can come up with new versions of content and design to ultimately find the best solution possible for our Global Navigation. Here is the story.
At this stage, we went on creating a qualitative study on what our users felt about level one categories. We gave them instructions and questions to answer. Our users were mainly DevOps, Business, and IT that were familiar with the Application Performance Monitoring tool with a CS background.
